We want to give it the attention it deserves and remove the taboos surrounding it. Our vision from day one has been to make access to intimate products easy and non-intimidating, and to create a space that makes you smile, not cringe. 

We at Lovetreats are a friendly, motley bunch. We are based in Bangalore and what gets us out of bed every morning is our passion to inspire our customers, transform the intimate lifestyle space in India and make it accessible for everyone! 

Ute - Co-Founder

 

Ute came to India for a stint with Fairtrade and during her stay got her "European myths” about Indian women busted by the amazing independent, self empowered women she met in Bangalore. Inspired by these women, she got the idea to start a sex positive, female friendly intimate lifestyle brand. Ute was born and and raised in Berlin and loves gardening, reading, and teaching Leila new tricks. Ute possesses the special ability of opening a beer bottle with literally anything.

Bala - Co-Founder

Bala came up with the idea for Lovetreats when he was "contemplating about life" with colleagues from his previous job in Amsterdam and a crazy guy called Hans (who ended up sponsoring our first inventory) challenged him to sell 100 dildos in India. After accepting the challenge, Bala saw the bigger picture of and got working on creating India's first sex positive intimate lifestyle space. Bala is from Mumbai and he loves travelling, video games, playing with Leila and making cocktails. His favourite time of the day is when the Kachori wala rings his cycle bell outside the Lovetreats office and delivers his favourite snack. 

Sush - Content Head

Sush joined Lovetreats in March '16, mostly because she fell in love with Leila when she came in for her interview. She grew up in Oman and studied in Bangalore and Edinburgh. Sush is well travelled, loves playing video games and listening to Death Metal. Her bucket list includes learning Korean, owning her own island and living in a monastery for a month. She is Leila's favourite person in the world.

 

 

Nidhi - Editorial Assistant

Nidhi is the latest addition to the Lovetreats team. She studied Acting at NYU and is currently finishing her degree in Social Work in Bangalore. Nidhi loves cooking, meeting new people and changing her hair colour once in a while. She writes awesome blogs and makes sure the Lovetreats team gets enough vitamins and antioxidants. One time she even managed to trick Bala into eating tofu. 

Avani - Resident Lovedoctor

Avani is the founder of Lovedoctor, a free counseling service that offers help and advice for all questions related to relationships, sex and sexual health. She is the resident Lovedoctor at Lovetreats and co-creator of our newest project #100DaysofLove. Avani grew up in the US and moved to India in 2014. She lives in Delhi, but secretly wants to move to Bangalore.

Rheea - Writer

Rheea spent most of her life moving between the US and India. In 2011, she decided enough was enough and moved back to Bangalore for good where she founded Write Leela Write with her friend Kala. Rheea writes awesome blogs and other things for Lovetreats. She loves dogs, attempts yoga and fantasizes about becoming vegan. Rheea also just published her first book, "Transit For Beginners"! 

Kalabati - Designer

Kala was born into a family of semi-crazy artists and musicians. She started her own artistic adventure in 2006 when she came to Bangalore to study art and design. Kala and her team at Write Leela Write are Lovetreats' favourite design partners. She is convinced she will die old, on an embroidered sofa, surrounded by cats, a wine glass in hand, and a 90’s Bollywood movie playing in the background. 

Leila - Lovedog

Leila the #lovedog is Lovetreats' least motivated team member. She doesn't care about sales, customer satisfaction or campaign conversions the tiniest bit. Her hobbies include eating, stealing newspapers and plastic bottles to rip them apart and playing with her friend Penny, the boxer. Her favourite time of the day is when Kiran from Fedex comes to pick up the parcels for the day and she gets to chase him up and down the Lovetreats office.
